Jennifer has built a successful practice in the fields of civil and commercial litigation, representing clients in various matters including family law, medical malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury claims, construction and property disputes and employment. Jennifer also has experience assisting clients in estate planning, including drafting living trusts and wills, and probate and estate administration, and handles transactional matters including commercial real estate closings. Beyond the resume, Jennifer’s clients will find a dedicated and passionate advocate, whose loyalty and compassion serve not only their legal needs but their human needs as well.
HLG's only Stowe native, Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Vermont in 1993. In 1996, she moved to San Francisco seeking a large firm experience and complex commercial litigation. While in California, Jennifer worked for prominent law firms as well as the Administrative Law Judge Division of the California Public Utilities Commission. Upon returning to Vermont, Jennifer worked at one of Burlington, Vermont’s leading firms before joining Barr & Associates, P.C. as a law clerk. Jennifer completed Vermont’s four- year law office study program and passed the Vermont Bar Exam in February 2000. In 2014, Jennifer joined Allen Horsley and Jesse Goldfine in forming Horsley Lajoie Goldfine.
A member of the Vermont Bar Association, Jennifer is admitted to practice in the State of Vermont, as well as in the United States District Court for the District of Vermont and the Southern District of New York.
In 2001, Jennifer joined the Board of Directors of the Clarina Howard Nichols Center, a Morrisville non-profit agency working to end sexual and domestic violence. Dedicated to Clarina’s mission, Jennifer served as a Director for almost 6 years and held the office of Vice-President for two years. Currently Jennifer serves as a Board member and as Treasurer for Revitalizing Waterbury, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the economic, historic and social vitality of downtown Waterbury, Vermont.
Jennifer lives in Waterbury with her husband and two children. In her free time she enjoys hiking, skiing and running.
